Tales From The Couch: Part 3

Hey y’all. Emotionally tired today, and physically too. I wouldn’t say it was a rough session, but it was a challenging one where I had to admit some hard truths to myself and accept them about others.

So, first lesson. Sometimes people don’t get closure. It’s nice to have, but there’s no guarantee that it’ll happen or that it will be effective in solving some, if not all problems.

Friends can be friends and still do rotten things to you–for whatever reason. One has to accept that, as hard as it may be to accept. They are responsible for their actions, just as you’re responsible for yours.

One has to be honest with oneself, even though progress can be made. “Woulds, shoulds, coulds…can often be replaced by “Did”. As in…I should have done this….as opposed to saying..”I DID do this”, and so on, and so on.

Writing can still be therapeutic, which is part of my homework this week.

So, a very short post, but with a lot of things to think about. I was challenged hard on several core beliefs, but I’ll be better for it. Being honest with myself and others is a very good thing–but also very difficult thing as well.

That’s it for now…again, I’m tired, with lots to think about. It was a very emotionation session–no tears, but with lots of feelings of hurt and anger bubbling up to the surface that I didn’t realize I still had.
