Greetings and salutations!
Why do I blog? Interesting question! Let’s delve into the reasons, shall we?
I blog to get things off my chest. It’s hard keeping emotions and everything bottled up inside. Those feelings just sit there, corroding and melting away the stuff that’s I think is good inside me. I don’t really have a lot of people to share stuff with, so I blog to get it out. It’s like a catharsis.
I blog so I can get all my emotions out. Normally, I wouldn’t. Normally, this stuff would be too private. There’s an old adage that one should write what one knows. And I know a lot about me. I also finds that putting a figurative pen to figurative paper helps me clarify my thoughts. It leads to me having a better understanding of what I’m thinking and feeling–the pros and cons, and everything in between.
I blog to express my opinions and to reveal about myself. I blog not just to vent, but to let people know how I think about certain topics. Where I stand, where are my red lines that I can’t or won’t cross.
I blog as an outlet of artistic expression. Some of you have read portions of my short stories, poems, or lyric changes. Some of it is good, some bad, some mediocre. All of that being said, art, whatever its form needs to be shared for it to be effective. That includes my photos–which I’m very proud of.
I blog so that I can maintain a historical record. Reading over my blog, I’m surprised at how far I’ve come…or how far I’ve fallen. Each entry is a snapshot of how I’m feeling that particular day. It’s nice to be able to look back and see.
At the end of the day, I blog because I enjoy it. I enjoy writing, and being creative, and I hope to get better at it. Maybe even have a real following! Is blogging for potential fame a legitimate reason?
Oh, P.S. I will blog in time about politics. Blogging to educate I think is a great thing, and I love politics. So stay tuned for my thoughts on Trump, Trudeau, Ford, etc.
Hi there, just wanted to mention, I enjoyed this article.
